Road Trip USA Route 66 ReviewIf you have Road Trip USA then don't bother with Road Trip USA Route 66. There is not very much additional material. For an overview of Route 66, this is an okay book. If you want a lot of detail about the route, there are many other books that are much beter. Road Trip USA Route 66 gives an overview of the route, the towns on the route and a little history about the route. There are no turn directions, which are needed if you intend to travel Route 66, which I highly recommend (it will take you two weeks to a month to travel all 2400 miles and see most of the well-known sites). Route 66 is not marked very well in many of the states it passes through. This is why you have to have detailed maps or a book that details the route.
By the way, the original Road Trip USA is a good overview book of the main non-interstate, transcontenental highways in the USA. I have used it many times to travel with my wife, in our convertible, on long weekends.Road Trip USA Route 66 Overview
